Mark Waid (* 21. März 1962, Hueytown, Alabama, USA)
1989 hatte es der Autor geschafft, für nahezu jeden großen Comic-Verlag tätig gewesen zu sein. Gemeinsam mit dem Comic-Maler Alex Ross schuf er die Story-Line Kingdom Come, für die sie mit dem Eisner Award ausgezeichnet wurden.
