The Exorcist is probably one of the most well known and most popular horror movies out of them all. Decades later it still brings chills to those that watch it. The Exorcist is all about a young girl who becomes possessed by a demon. It is up to the exorcist to remove this demon in the little girl. Even though this movie is fairly old, the cinematography is fairly good. That, and the combination of the intense music can make some scenes incredibly daunting.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose can be a more recent horror movie that also did quite well at the box company. It involves a teenage girl who is considered possessed by this Catholic church. This movie was favorable despite several poor reviews from movie critics. 

The Shining is another classic horror movie. It stars Jack Nicholson for a tired and frustrated blogger. He feels like he can never concentrate on his writing so he takes a job as a winter caretaker in the hotel. Ironically it seems the hotel is haunted, so he does not necessarily get to do a lot of writing. 

The Blair Witch Project is a very low budget horror film. It involves a group of people filming a movie in the woods. For a good element of the movie it is just a bunch of young adults talking and exploring. But near the end it does obtain quite suspenseful. 

The Ring is arguably among the list of scariest movies to come out in the last ten years. It is still extremely popular. The villain in this movie is a young girl who was trapped down a well consequently died there. She comes back to haunt a teen woman, her son together with her boyfriend. 

The Saw series has become a 2010 very successful franchise. The main movie received the best reviews from critics, but the many other movies have done great at the box office. The original saw movie starts off with two guys who wake up in a room jointly. They do not know how they got there plus they are handcuffed to a tube. They are soon given a series of tasks which must be completed within a period or they will be killed. This movie is not as much scary as it is actually gruesome and suspenseful. 

Texas Chainsaw Massacre starts off by stating that it is based on a a fact story. It is often debated on what true the story really is though. Five people on their 20's go on a long road trip. It is supposed to be an enjoyable experience until their car fights and they find themselves stranded within a small rural town. 

Scream can be a horror movie that is actually very well done. It involves a grouping of high school students who are growing up in an occasion when a serial killer is on the loose. The serial monster wears a costume that resembles a ghost. This costume has become extremely popular as a Halloween costume choice for many young people and adults alike. 

. Horror movies have become a bustling business in Hollywood. With relatively low cost of production in addition to a generally solid return in the box office, horror films are churned out every year in a big approach. One thing is confident. People like to be scared at the movies. Within the last few years, there have been some pretty awful horror films. But amongst the bad, there have been some great ones. I'll give some basic plotlines but will not be giving spoilers.

Vampires have been in the media in a giant way for recent years. Unfortunately most movies they are in are more approximately love and less about horror. Even though it's not a perfect film, I thoroughly enjoyed month of night for the following exact reason. 

Forget about the fact that it is a scary movie, The Ring is just an awesome film. The plot is captivating and a great movie to watch out for anyone who wishes that they liked horror films but have difficulty getting through it. It's scary but incredibly interesting, and Naomi Watts gives a great performance. 

An additional incredibly frightening film, containing somewhat of a realistic feel into it is 28 Days Later. Starring the great Irish actor Cillian Murphy in his breakout role, this film takes place near your vicinity following a devastating disease where most of the country has become really... "sick. " This is more than just a zombie dvd; it is an incredibly suspenseful film that has a somewhat post-apocalyptic feel for it. 

My favorite horror film in recent memory however goes to The Descent. It can be a story about 5 young girls who go exploring within a unmarked cave and properly, as you can visualize, everything pretty much moves wrong. I won't say anymore, but The Descent is undoubtedly a horror film worth seeing. 

While remakes generally may not be good, I very considerably enjoyed The Hills Get Eyes remake. It was scary, over the prime, horrific, and even funny at times. I will not get into details, but there is one scene in such a movie that has stayed with me, and is certainly not for any squeamish. 

Finally, Sunshine, by Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is usually another fantastic film. While it definitely isn't a true horror film per se, its plot is daunting and realistic and at minimum, it can be called suspenseful.

Opinions differ regarding the original Halloween Movie and the remake, but according to your consumers, neither will leave you sitting "less than tense all night after. " 

This can be a movie that makes you look on the backseat BEFORE you even get their keys out to get involved the car! lol

#3 This Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) (together with many consecutive versions) 

This legendary set of films is regarded by many as the scare of a life time. Consumers reported, "there's nothing more scary than thinking about revving chainsaws chasing you down to no avail. " 

A lot of these thrillers are notably reviewed and ranked over the years as all very reputable horror films ever!

. From time to time period, we see so many horror movies come and go. Spooky, haunted residences, serial killers, slashers, maniacs, mentals, satanic and many more have been pictured inside movie. A lot with sub genres, a number of remakes, a lot with variations, twist and all that can easily be found with the ages. Yeah, it's just about all true. But have we ever thought where everything came from?

 Or how will do the horror movies genre change now and again? 

For you who share the identical passion about horror flicks, and want to know the road that have been travelled by Horror flicks, allow me to enjoy the honor to be your guide. Buckle up, here we go. 

 Where Everything Began  

The entire year was 1922, place: Languages like german. I can say that it was the birth involving horror movies. W Murnau started the terror and worry through Nosferatu, nosferatuthe

 story about bloodsucking vampire. It wasn't the first vampire movie, as with 1896 Georges Melies produced Le Castle Du Diable, but Nosferatu was the first movie where we noticed vampire destroyed by sunlight. Both with the movie became a classic and successful. Boris Karloff quite possibly became a legendary identify in horror movies history. The Mummy (1932) a silent picture with scary icon Boris Karloff in the title role, remains a vintage, with unforgettable make-up and atmosphere. In 1935, that sequel of Frankenstein,

 Your Bride Of Frankenstein has been made. This isn't silent anymore. 

 Psycho  

At the time of 40's the world's on war, and it provides changed the genre. Horror was almost lost as patriotic movies and war has taken the place. It little by little raised again around 50's, the place comedy and musical flicks ruled. There were good ones took place at this time, House of Wax is one of the example. 1960 was the time for Hitchcock to brew a memorable movie: Psycho. Way too bad, this is the only horror movie by Hitchcock, cuz then he made lots of suspence thriller snacks like Rear Window, Vertigo, To the north by Northwest, Dial Meters For Murder that somewhat changed the genre again. And remember, spaghetti western Movies in the late 60's also experienced its moment. 

 Your 70's  

This is the most creative year with Horror movies. Unlike in advance of, horror movies got major exploration, where so many variation of story together with evil came in. Note there was clearly lots of controversy and protest happened here. The Exorcist (1973) for example showed disgusting scenes that will never been imagined before, like the green puke to the face transformed to evil. This movie was controversial when Catholic Church protested that the demon cast-out in the movie was against the code of conduct. That shining, that based on Stephen King's novel was one of the best one during 70's. Down the road from this decade to help 80s and 90s, several movies was made influenced by his scary novel like Carrie, Christine, Cujo, The idea,, Cat's Eye, Dream Catcher, are the example. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) was a decreased budget movie that reached an awesome result. This one introduced "the slasher movie" to the world that later pursued by Halloween (say hey to Michael Myers), Feb 5th the 13th, Scream in the 80's and 90's and so on. Omen is a bonechillin' movie that can still give

 you nightmare kept in mind however today's technology of producing movie. Simply unforgettable. Amityville Horror, based on the true story was the first movie that took place in the actual location. The report said lots of bizarre and dreadful items were experienced by cast and crew in spot. 

 The 80's  

 Freddie Kruger  

This can be a decade of madness. All gory stuff were proven sadistically for viewing. cutted off body parts were seen everywhere. Nightmare on Elm Street that launched Freddy Krueger to horror hall of fame, and Jason Voorheyes reducing games in Friday the 13th are one of many example. These two had some of their sequels during 80s, in conjunction with 3 of Halloweens. And remember how Italian language horror movies that employ a sick super bloody vision? Count Romero and Argento for this purpose category. This is also the era where scary expanded to tv. 

 This 90's  

Surprising thing happened in 90s. There's a tendency of self defense and self actualization just by horror character on terror they have made to people. For instance Ghost, Bram Stocker's Dracula that will told the story about Count

 Dracula's painful love to Mina, or Interview With Vampires that unlocked your mystery of vampire activities. Scream started a brand-new genre, teen horror flicks, slashing-serial-killer-who-did-it, which soon pursued by I Know What You Did Last Summer, Downtown Legend, and some even more. A note in 1999, an independent movie Blair Witch Project became a giant phenomena, using a documentation strategy to give us fear, tight and mental disturbance. This one inspired some other movies like St. Francisville Try things out, The Lamarie Project and

 tv series Freaky Links. 

 2000's  

 Ringu  

Nevertheless too early maybe to talk about horror movies in 2000s, but seems like Hollywood has running out of ideas. They are looking to widen up their view to find new ideas outside that will give new vision to the term of horror. That Ring, remake from Japanese people movie was their first success. Followed by The eye, and some other remakes with Asian cinemas. 

The following decade seems being directed by Japan and Korea, by making so many horror movies with lack of effects or gory blood but still successfully tortured our experiencing. They don't go while using the Hollywood pattern, they just dig everything else that hasn't been handled yet. Thailand is also emerging for a good horror maker. Indonesian movies too, with amusing amount of horror movies every season. We also mark the decade 2000 for any decade of sequels and remakes too, such since Halloween H2O, Freddy vs . Jason, modern version associated with Bram Stocker's Dracula, Dracula 2001,

 The halloween season Resurrection, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House in the Dead, The Amityville Horror et cetera. 

While your energy to combine some makes and produce something innovative has still been going on. Saw for example, combine the psycho thriller ala Hitchkock using slasher, sadistic, bloody and graphic scenes. 

My own prediction? I think this decade will continue to take some action. Hopefully in the next decade we will see some new approach, style and way to present horror movies. Let's wait and see where the horror movies continue their path.
