Do Animal's Spirits Stay Behind
Animals for a lot of of us hold a unique place in our lives and hearts. This was the case for the dog, Crystal, who unfortunately passed on Monday, May 3rd 2010. She had created a cancerous tumor in her mouth in September of 2009. Since September, my family and I knew that people might be confronted with having to decide to put her to sleep. The week before, we felt it was the very best decision to make. She'd been full of energy up until Monday, but we were concerned that the tumor may spread into the back of her throat, reducing vital oxygen. Afterwards, I used to be sitting with my Mom, and she or he asked me "Do you believe part of her will remain?" meaning her spirit. I immediately answered without hesitation "Yes. I actually do."
I know that every animal lover who believes in the existence of spirits will agree with me. Animals develop their very own personality, and become part of the family. The normal scene in movies and commercials of the loyal dog waiting patiently in the door for you to get home, traveling in the passenger seat of a vehicle with their head in the wind, and coming in your room in the morning to wake you up may be cliche, but they're all true.
Crystal developed her own personality, and her unique habits. She always laid within our yard on sunny days, making it her passion to chase the cat across the street as he strayed into our yard. My father could not get a drive anywhere without Crystal bounding up the stairs blocking the door until he grabbed her leash. Despite the fact that she might not physically be around anymore, I know that her spirit will visit whenever the neighbors cat is within our yard, when my dad goes for a drive, in order to lay within our yard on sunshine. Even speaking with our animals which have passed on may bring their spirit nearer to us.
Probably the most common a few things i often hear others say about losing an animal, is "It takes a while to get accustomed to them not being there. You walk in thinking they'll be there, and then you understand that it really happened. They aren't there anymore." I finally understood what others had meant by that Tuesday morning. I expected to determine Crystal laying within our yard under the sun. I began to think, "What if she really is there, and I am sensing her." Honestly, I believe that is what it was. I had been sensing her. You would have it crazy to me that they would not visit us.
When others feel that they expect their pets to be there, I would be prepared to bet their animal is still there watching over them, making sure that their loved ones is ok. Once they know their loved ones is ok, I believe they move on. This is the time after i believe families adjust to and actually know the very fact their animal has passed on, since their spirit isn't there as frequently anymore since they know their family is ok. However, they will always visit time to time to express hi and sit within their favorite spots.
